Who do you work with?

The bulk of our clients are professionals, start-ups, and small to mid-sized businesses.

What software do you use?
We use QuickBooks as our primary financial platform as well as a host of other tools like bill.com, TSheets, and Gusto to automate your company.

How do we get our documents to CMG?
There are several ways to get documentation to us.  We use Dropbox and Bill.com to make things easy for you.

 

How will my company’s sensitive data/information be secured?
We take security very seriously!  We prefer to use DropBox to store all cloud documents.  This allows us to control what employees can access your folders.  We also use LastPass to secure our passwords and sensitive info.

How long does it take to set up accounting services online?
Depending on the condition of your books, it could take as little as a few days to set up your accounting services online. If your books are not current, then we will need to organize them before we can proceed with the day-to-day work. Either way, once we have access to your accounting software and any other platforms we may need we get started right away! 

 

What Documents do you need to get started?
We will need access to your accounting software, your cloud based files (dropbox, gDrive, Box) if applicable, Banking, Payroll, HR folders.  It varies depending on what services we are providing.  We will give you a full list upon engagement.

 

I’m/we are just starting a business and I / we have very basic accounting knowledge, can you help me/us?
Absolutely!  We can handle every step of the process or just the pieces you don’t want to.  We will also teach you how to read your financial statements so you have full visibility into your business!
 

Will Collard Management Group work with my CPA at tax time?
Of course!  Our whole goal is to ensure your financials are in order for a swift filing at end of year.  We close your books at the end of every month, so a year end close does not add much time!  If you do not have a current CPA, no worries we have a very experienced tax partner that we refer all of our clients to.

Do you offer full service payroll processing?
We will handle all of your payroll needs, but with the use of a 3rd party payroll provider.  Payroll and tax filing are such a sensitive issue.  It is best to pay the small fee to the 3rd party provider and let them handle those filings.  Don’t worry, we’ll do all the leg work up to that point!

Why should I use cloud based firm over an in-house team?
• We are usually at least 50% of the cost of in-house staff.

• Our services are catered to your needs. Only pay for what you need!

• You get a full team for less than the cost of one full time professional.
• We have up-to-date tools and software that make us more efficient.
• With the use of tools like Zoom and GoToMeeting, you will feel like we're an intimate part of your team.

Do you accept clean-up projects?
Yes, we handle clean-up projects regularly no matter how many years back.

How do I access my accounting software?
You will have access to your financial platform from the internet.

Communication- what is the preferred method of contact?
If a call is needed to discuss any matters, that is fine.  But we do prefer all requests/deliverables to be in email.  Not because we don’t want to hear your voice, but so we always have a communication train we can look back on.  It makes it easier for all of us in the long run!

 

Communication- what is the expected turnaround time on inquiries?
When we work with you, we like to interact as one of your own internal team members.  Unless we are on a call or in a meeting, we tend to get back to you ASAP!  We don’t want to keep you waiting!  Turnaround on tasks varies on what it entails, but we will ask you for your hard deadline and let you know if that can be met?

How does pricing work?
Initially we like to analyze your business needs and current growth rate to give you an accurate idea of the time needed for your account.  We charge hourly for the cleanup and introductory phase (the first 3 months after cleanup), then move to a monthly retainer going forward.
